First, we have to take a look at what media came out during their teen and young adult years and what is yet to influence those on the younger side who are just now turning ten this year. Generation Z is debated to be born from 1995-2012. the ’96 is the debated part as some websites say it is 95 and others go down as far as 98′. their teen years would start as early as 2008. They were young enough to have known who Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are but they were not old enough to dress like them.

Now that they are, they have higher quality lenses that they can use to post their outfit to social media, which has since progressed and aged alongside with them.

These nuanced factors are all instrumental in understanding the general direction fashion trends are heading in. There is a scarily accurate 20-year trend cycle algorithm, and wardrobe stylists for shows and movies, and music videos that have yet to be produced look at them. They either follow along the forward flowing river of the current trends or they splash in the middle of the current by taking a big risk or using a random but carefully curated color story and design motif that ripples across mainstream fashion.

In short, they will create Euphoria, which in my opinion only uses a smidgen of y2k/2000’s references.
